It's part of why you can see 800hp out of a 6L gas motor running 20 PSI, don't run into the huge restriction of having both valves closed during TDC of exhaust/intake. Gas motors move more air because of valve overlap more than RPMs. Click to expand.the harsh side to diesel exhaust is that it's oxidizing where gasoline exhaust isn't, this is why some of the more exotic alloy turbines aren't rated for diesel use, they'll burn up over time
